Boy's Program
Impact VBC 17 Boys Volleyball

The Impact VBC 17 Boys team traveled to St. Louis, MO, January 14th for the Dennis Lafata Gateway Festival, a National Qualifier tournament for the boys.  The team had an amazing finish of 5th place in the Gold division. They were just one win away from qualifying for a J.O. National bid in the 17 Open Division.

The team was lead by Scott Rhein’s powerful hitting from both the front and back row.  Directing the team was Tyler Golsteyn and his precision setting which helped lead the team to two first place finshes in pool play.  Grant Cornay brought his A-Game this weekend as he lead the middle attackers in kills while John Michael Cook kept the team alive with his inspired back row play and serve-receive passing.  Joseph Newland played the Libero position all weekend and was instrumental in keeping the ball control high for the team, allowing it to run the effective offense.  Matt Conway and Jacob Conley, freshly acquired from our Atlanta Connection, increased the firepower of the already-potent offense of the Impact VBC 17 team.  These seven players established a new benchmark for the club by setting a record for the highest finish in a Open Qualifier in our clubs rich history.
